I contributed another piece to Silver Screen Society for May! And again, didn’t get it in until the end of the month. But that’s okay! The movie this month was Hero directed by Zhang Yimou.

It’s a really beautiful film. Each section/scene in the movie is presented in a specific color palette (green not represented here unfortunately, and the figures above aren’t in the correct chronological order either, but the little graphic sets on the bottom are!) 

I thought this film was really a study of movement. There are lots of slow motion shots of the actors in combat. And LOTS of hair and flowing fabric. I tried mimic that movement with my brush strokes. Some are more successful than others!
